AIMS

The relationships between rational and irrational aspects of decision-making was the focus of the first edition of the summer school. More specifically, the role played by intuition and emotion in making a decision was dealt with. The summer school intended to address questions such as: To what extent human choices can be considered rational? Why a decision can be labelled as irrational? What is the adaptive value of rationality and irrationality? Is intuition a cognitive shortcut or a form of thinking which overcomes logic? Is emotion a limit or a resource for decision?
